Biography:
Susan A. Smith is an associate at Cary Kane LLP and works in the firm’s employee benefits practice from the New York City office. In addition to recently receiving her LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, she received a Certificate in Employee Benefits Law. While attending Catholic University Columbus School of Law, where she earned her J.D., Ms. Smith interned for the U.S. Department of Labor, Planned Benefits Security Division. Before joining Cary Kane, she practiced family law in Seattle, Washington.
Before attending law school Ms. Smith earned a masters degree in education from George Mason University. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from Oberlin College. She taught English in the public school system of Fairfax County, Virginia.
Ms. Smith is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
Ms. Smith is licensed to practice law in Washington.
