Biography:

David Ofenloch has practiced labor and employee benefits law for 3 years. He has represented unions and employee benefit plan clients in a wide range of matters including the selection of service providers, fiduciary responsibility, plan operation, collection matters, participant communication and appeals, plan mergers and terminations, and compliance with federal and state governments and agencies. While completing his law degree from New York Law School, Mr. Ofenloch was the recipient of the Grant Street Boys' Foundation Annual Scholarship and the Summer in the City Legal Fellowship. He was a member of the International Law Society Executive Board. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ofenloch served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Paraguay, South America as an Environmental Educator.

Mr. Ofenloch advises the boards of trustees of multi-employer pension, welfare, annuity and 401(k) plans on all matters relating to their fiduciary responsibility, including compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Department of Labor and other applicable laws and regulations, as well as the investigation of benefit fund fraud and the evasion of reporting and remittance obligations. He assists clients with the drafting of plan governance documents, participation, trust and merger agreements, summary plan descriptions, service provider agreements, and client memoranda. Mr. Ofenloch also has experience in the selection of plan service providers, from the initiation of the RFP process through the negotiation and drafting of provider contracts.

Mr. Ofenloch is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and is admitted to the United State Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York.

He graduated cum laude from Boston College where he majored in English Literature and minored in Environmental Science. He earned his law degree from New York Law School. Mr. Ofenloch is married and is an avid swimmer and cyclist.
