Compensation Program

Cary Kane LLP offers a superior and highly competitive compensation package. Salaries for staff are competitive within the general marketplace in New York City for medium size law firms. Salary levels at Cary Kane LLP for attorneys and paralegals either meet or exceed what is generally available at union-side labor law firms in New York City. All employees are eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus.

Our benefits program includes company-paid family medical, hospital, prescription and dental insurance. Company-paid medical insurance is available for domestic partners regardless of sexual orientation. We also provide company-paid life insurance as well as long term and short term disability benefits.

Our 401k profit sharing pension program offers employees a choice of over 40 investment funds, the bulk of which are rated by Morningstar as 4 or 5 stars. The firm contributes an amount equal to 4% of an employee’s total paid compensation to the profit sharing plan without regard to whether the employee is electing to make voluntary pre-tax contributions. A discretionary annual profit sharing distribution is also available.

All attorneys are eligible to receive 4 weeks vacation with pay per annum. Staff is eligible for 2 weeks of paid vacation during their first year of employment. After 5 years of employment, staff employees are eligible for 3 weeks of vacation; after 10 years they are eligible for 4 weeks. In an appropriate case, Cary Kane LLP will consider matching a vacation entitlement currently being enjoyed by a prospective employee.

All staff, paralegals, and attorneys are eligible for sick and personal days each year as well as paid bereavement leave.

The law firm is family friendly. We are willing to consider a temporary leave of absence or part-time or job sharing arrangements with attorneys in order to accommodate personal family commitments.
