Labor Practice Area
Cary Kane’s attorneys help labor unions meet today’s difficult challenges. We understand unions because many of our attorneys were once active trade unionists or in-house counsel to a union or its related benefit plans.
Our labor lawyers have over 95 years of experience representing unions in both the private and public sectors. Our attorneys have handled hundreds of arbitration, representation and unfair labor practice proceedings, negotiated or assisted at negotiations of numerous collective bargaining agreements, and litigated complex cases in federal and state court on behalf of unions.
We represent unions when they are striking, picketing, boycotting or engaging in other forms of direct action. We also handle the legal issues involving a union’s internal affairs, be they connected with running elections, the handling of moneys, or relations with members or between local and national bodies.
Cary Kane’s attorneys are available to assist unions in developing and implementing non-traditional organizing efforts and the planning and conduct of anti-corporate campaigns. We are also available to handle union financed collective or class actions on behalf of workers.
The firm is called upon at times to assist in-house counsel with particular matters and we represent unions or individual union officials for particular matters on a case-by-case basis. We also represent unions on a regular and on-going basis.
Cary Kane does not represent employers against unions.
